Bailout bill gets add-ons to lure votes
The core of the Senate version of the financial bailout bill is the Bush administration’s plan to buy troubled assets from banks, but the proposal includes new provisions, according to a copy of the bill posted on the Senate Web site. The add-ons are aimed at attracting more votes in the House, which defeated an earlier version of a bailout on Monday.
