Giant space rock passed 72,000 km from Earth on Monday
An asteroid similar in size to the object that exploded above Siberia in 1908 with the force 1,000 times more powerful than the bomb dropped on Hiroshima sped close past the Earth on Monday, astronomers said Tuesday.
