Global debt writeoffs to total $1.4 trillion US: IMF
Global financial institutions hold $1.4 trillion US in near-worthless commercial paper, or twice much as the entire financial rescue plan passed by the U.S. Congress, according to a report released Tuesday by the International Monetary Fund.
