Israeli troops push forward, splitting Gaza
Thousands of Israeli troops, backed by tanks, artillery and helicopters, have pushed deep into Gaza, essentially splitting the territory in two. More than 500 Palestinians have been killed over the past week, according to Palestinian medical sources.
