12,000 U.S. troops out of Iraq by fall

Some 12,000 troops will be pulled from Iraq over the next six months as part of a gradual troop withdrawal in the region, the U.S. military said today. President Obama announced last month that the U.S. plans to withdraw most of its troops from Iraq by the end of August 2010. There are now 142,000 U.S. troops in Iraq.div class=”feedflare”
