Doctor Travels from Michigan to Mongolia to Lend a Hand
DETROIT, Mich., Oct. 28 (SEND2PRESS NEWSWIRE) — Allure Medical Spa announces that Dr. Kotlus, a cosmetic and oculofacial plastic surgeon in Shelby Township, Michigan, spent the last two weeks of September, 2008 in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia on a humanitarian medical mission. He worked with a group of Mongolian surgeons to train them in eyelid and facial reconstructive surgery. He assisted them with advanced surgical cases including facial bone reconstructions, eyelid reconstructions, and facial tumor resections.
“The physicians in Mongolia are highly motivated to advance the quality of medical care in their country, but their access to resources is limited. One half of Mongolians live in small huts, as part of a nomadic lifestyle,” says Dr. Kotlus.
