Shooting at Tony Roma’s
In what is suspected to have been a dispute over a multi-million-peso debt, the owner of the Presidente Sport betting store was injured by Police General Ricardo Emilio Rodriguez Taveras on Saturday, outside Tony Roma’s restaurant on Av. Sarasota in Santo Domingo. Rodriguez injured Eliezer Salvador who was hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the Abel Gonzalez Clinic, where he is said to be in a stable condition.
Carlos Olivares, the lawyer representing Salvador, said that his client had been threatened and because of that on Friday they had taken the complaint to the Police and on Saturday morning to the Permanent Attention Center of the Justice.
El Nacional reported the Police said it would prosecute Rodriguez, accused of injuring Salvador.
