Trial will be test of overseas torture law
The son of former Liberian president Charles Taylor Sr. goes on trial Monday in Miami, Florida, in the first court proceeding of its kind — testing a 1994 United States law saying those accused of committing torturous acts overseas can be tried in a U.S. federal court.
