A Colombian arrested three days ago in possession of 95 kilos of cocaine had been sentenced to 20 years in jail for another shipment of 442 packages of cocaine. As reported in El Dia, Juan Reynaldo Ramirez Rendon was a member of a network that has operated in the country for years.
Another Colombian from the same gang, Jaime Alonzo Calle Munoz was gunned down in 2007 after he secured his release on bail. Ramirez Rendon was also released on bail at the time.

National Drug Control Department (DNCD) head Major General Rolando Rosado Mateo told El Dia: “We don’t have the slightest idea how this individual was free, because the sentence for the first case dates back to December 2008.”
